Michael Karkula Wiki

Michael Karkula is a Mixed Martial Artist from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Karkula started training at the age of 16 with future UFC fighter Mark Bocek who was one of Canada's top grapplers at the time. Michael started to fight professionally at the age of 20 and would go 4-0 with 4 first round submissions over the next 3 years to start his career.

In 2013 Karkula had the chance to trade punches with the likes of UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo and UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao leading up to Aldo's title defense against Frankie Edgar when he was invited to participate in the Champ's training camp because of his strong wrestling. Michael has said that it wasn't until going to Brazil that he felt he had a future as a UFC fighter.

In early 2013 he was named City TV's Athlete of the Week.

He is set to fight Canadian regional staple Brad Cardinal at Xcessive Force FC 1 in what will be his biggest challenge thus far.
