Amateur Career

As an amateur Ashlee Evans-Smith held a record of 5-4 and is the former Tuff-N-Uff Champion. Though 5-4 doesn't sound very impressive, it should be noted her four losses come to women with a combined amateur record of  20-1-1. She also holds a noteable win over Invicta prospect Jessamyn Duke.

Pro Debut

Evans-Smith kicked off her pro career on March 2, 2013 in a quarterfinal bout for the CFA Womens Featheweight Tournament. In a hard-fought back-and-forth battle against former amateur rival Tori Adams, Evans-Smith prevailed via Unanimous Decision and avenged a past loss in the process. She was then expected to face off against Peggy Morgan in the semi-final round at CFA 11, but was removed from the card after taking part in the TUF 18 tryouts. A recent report from The Wrestling Observer newsletter named Evans-Smith as one of 17 fighters who were rumoured to have made the final cut for TUF 18, but the 25-year-old will instead reclaim her spot in the CFA tournament. Ashlee would automatically advance to the the finals as Morgan removed herself from the tournament after news broke about transgender fighter Fallon Fox's biology and her last minute replacment Anna Barone failed to make weight.

Fallon Fox Upset

On October 12 Evans-Smith would go into the tournament finals at CFA 12 a huge underdog at +425. After a back and forth 1st round she began to take over in the 2nd. The round would end in controversy, as Evans-Smith landed punches from full mount, the ref failed to hear the bell allowing her to countinue hitting Fox after the round had ended eventually appearing to call the fight off by TKO. As Ashlee, her corner and the crowd celebrated the ref informed her he had made a mistake and the fight would go to a 3rd round. In the 3rd Ashlee was able to get full mount again and landed a flurry of punches until the ref stepped in and stopped the fight earning her the 3rd round TKO upset.

WSOF

Evans-Smith was then signed to the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) to compete against Marciea Allen at WSOF 10. She won the fight via TKO in the third round.

UFC

Now at 3-0, Evans-Smith was offered to fight Raquel Pennington on December 6, 2014 at UFC 181 following a neck injury to Pennington's original opponent, Holly Holm. It was a back and forth fight fought mostly in the clinch until Pennington secured a bulldog choke late in the round. As the round expired, as Pennington released the choke due to the bell, it was revealed that Evans-Smith was unconscious. The fight was stopped in between rounds 1 and 2, however the official time is 4:59 in the first round.
