Russian invasion of Ukraine thread.

I'll post what's happening as it comes through for purposes of posterity. Doubt the veracity of what is posted here. Having lived through the Iraq war, I am sure that the vast majority of what gets reported will turn out to be either misinformation or outright ********. Posting because a lot of non-Australia members will be asleep, now. I'll report as much as I can.

So far the g****vine is:

Russia has indeed embarked on a full scale invasion of Ukraine. Air attacks, and ground forces. There has been at least one missile strike, there have been front-line Ukranian casualities ( have seen video, cannot post it here, too graphic).

Belarus has thrown in with Russia/is issuing support.
Reports of Ukrainian air defence having shot down multiple Russian planes, either drones or fighters.

People have been talking about how Russians are taking a lot of casualties, and saying this is a sign that they are losing. This is how Russia has always fought wars. They are big believers in mass assault doctrine. I really hope Ukraine can pull off a win, but being realistic I think Russia will probably win this one.

It's pretty funny how the talking head gets upvoted for saying literally exactly the same things as I do when I get downvoted.

This site is pretty special.

Here's some actual, literal Ukrainians talking about how Azov battalion, which are the Neo-Nazi sector of the regime's national guard which western media says don't exist, are literally killing Ukrainian citizens in the streets as they try to flee.

President Zelenskyy has now made it illegal to belong to any political party other than his own.

But somehow the West still doesn't consider him a dictator.

@Greg this why this forum needs private threads. Or otherwise the groups feature needs to have expanded functionality with threads which have the same interfacing as forum threads. 

I don't see why I should be forced to engage with anyone I don't wish to. Nor why anyone else should have to. Not even putting these ******s on ignore is an effective repellant.  How can they see posts here anyway? They're literally logging out, reading what's posted here and *****ing about it in the knowledge they're not welcome to participate.

Russia literally was given guarantees which have not been upheld by the US and its partners.

Ukraine is not going to win. The regime is getting totally ass****d. Maybe I should start posting some more explicit content demonstrating this here.
