I hope the Masvidal fight is still on.

yes i hope so too. i was looking forward to this one, but there is no reason why this fight couldn't take place in the ufc.
they should bring masvidal also. a title shot right away, like dana is thinking about, in the article wouldn't make sense to me. if masvidal for some reason stays in strikeforce i would like to see "gilbert melendez vs. edson barbosa"

I'd like to see them both (Gilbert and Masvidal) in the UFC but the LW is a bit crowded now. Hard to make matches when so many people think they deserve a shot.

Thank God!!! The UFC is where Gil belongs. I want to see him fight the best not strikeforce scrubs.

Masvidal is a decent fight for Melendez, but I would much prefer him just coming over to the UFC straight away.

If it were up to me, he'd get the winner of Frankie and Gray.  If not that, then anyone else in the top 10 will due.

Good to hear. With this news, Strikeforce is most likely on its decline now more than ever.

I wonder if the UFC will take over the contract that Strikeforce has with Showtime?  I hope so.  If not, I'll be cancelling Showtime as soon as Strikeforce folds.

Man, I will be thrilled when Alvarez makes the move to the UFC.  Melendez is a hell of a talent, and will probably hold the UFC LW belt at some point during his stay, but I would actually rather see Alvarez in the UFC if I had to choose.  But, when the day comes that we have Alvarez and Melendez in the same organization, there are going to be some legendary battles.  Just imagine the possibilities!

wasn't there a rumour going around a couple months ago about Miller going to SF? I'd still like to see that one or Gil fighting the winner of Bendo/Guida sounds pretty darn good too though

Another scrap pack member who probably won't do well in the UFC if you ask me.

I see the LW belt changing hands 2 or 3 times in 2012.  It might become the new LHW belt.

To me, it's Mr. Benson Henderson who will hold the belt for quite some time.

@xbass I agree if Ben Henderson beats Guida and wins the belt he'll hold the belt for a minute
